Speeeeeling meeestakes!!

I somehow fail to understand this fad of using different spellings for seemingly simple words. Like ma or mah for my, awezum for awesome, tyme for time etc. Why? Why?

When the language is so easy to read and write, why make it complicated by using such ridiculous speeeeellings. I definitely get confused when i look at such words. Is it a fad or is it a way of telling that you belong to this generation or is it just following-the-herd mentality? There was a time, when sending messages from a cell phone, these short cuts were used. There was a reason for that, limited msg length and limited time. But why bring the same on to the paper or while typing on the computer. There is no such constraint. Oh well!! People amaze me.......

Gopalswamy Betta.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning of 14th June. Early morning breeze, beautiful sunrise and a bunch of friends cruising along the highway. What else can I ask for? We were headed towards Gopal Swamy Betta.

It is a quaint little place tucked away on a hill top, some 70 kms after Mysore. The journey till the hill top is the awesome part of the trip. There were 11 of us. 6 in a Bolero and 5 in an Indica.

We had many a stops before we could reach the temple. For breakfast, to refuel the vehicles, to click never-will-I-see-such-beautiful-sights pictures and to catch up with the other car. Well, in our car, the main topic was car mechanics. Grrr. There were 4 guys and they didn't talk another word about another topic. If by chance, they did, it was about stocks and shares. Oh god!! But it was nice, teasing them about it later. :P

On that day, the Creator was in a mood to be artistic. Wherever we saw, we saw beautiful patterns of clouds. Clear blue sky with grey clouds. The weather was awesome. We got some great pics too.
We were given good food at the temple. It was filling. We went around the hill, for a small trek and reached at a place where you could see only greenery. Well, only hills and clouds and nothing else. For people from cities, this is a rare and fulfilling sight.

We headed back by 3pm. On the way back too, we had many many pit stops. For coffee, for snacks, for jackfruit, for tender coconut, for dinner and for some photos. We also got to see rainbow. We went crazy, acting like kids, acting like we have never seen one before.

It was an awesome trip and special one in few ways. 1. one of our friends will be going to an MBA school, so this will be her last trip with us, for some years to come. 2. 2 couples are married recently and this was their first trip with their friends as couples. 3. one more couple will be getting married and this will be their last trip as single guy/girl.

Nevertheless, that day/trip was one of the many good days/trip for our group. We are used to having great time whenever we are together and we did just the same this time too.

Waiting? Oh no, not again!!

I had never waited for anyone so much as I had to wait yesterday for one person. It was not even worth the wait. I was made to starve, for half an hour of his time. Oh well!!

Well, it was like this. In my new college, yesterday was the day when hall tickets were distributed to students for their finals. And this governor of a north Indian state was supposed to address the students' gathering. We were told it would be a 20 minutes funciton. And well, we ended up waiting for 3 full hours. Such a waste of time. Of students' and ours. That too it was during the lunch hour. I would have fainted if it went on for 10 more mins, I promise. Oh well, such is the audacity of people in power. Though the governor, 'his excellency', spoke well, no one was in a mood to listen to him. Everyone's eyes was on the clock.
Guess, this is the norm everywhere.

Oh well!!

Out of 'IT' at last !!

Finally out of 'IT'. Bid goodye. Atleast for the present I am done with 'IT'. Feels nice. Definitely on a break with 'IT'. He he.. Ok ok I shall stop calling 'IT'.

As i was lamenting in my last post about how I was never happy with IT, I had no choice but to get along with it cos i actually dint have any other choice. But the company I was working in gave me one. The company wanted me to shift to another city due to openings in project there. And i did not want to leave my beloved Bangalore and go to another city. I declined (rather rejected) the offer. They gave me no choice but to quit. And i gladly did. How relieved i felt that day.

Next on the cards was which job to look for and which companies to apply to. Well as it happens, the college in which my brother studies had openings for lecturer post. Gave a demo and i was in. Feels so happy to be doing something that is so different from what i was doing for the last 2 years. And this makes sense. Absolute sense.

Its my first day in this new college today and i am already reminiscing about my college days. (I wouldn't go ahead and tell a filmi dialogue 'I will live my college days thro these students' :P)

Hope students here dont trouble me as we, in our college days, used to trouble our lecturers. :)
